Data recovery from Maxtor hard disk drives

When powering up the computer, the hard disk will either not show in the BIOS at all or show one as one of the following Aliases instead of its original model number. Such as - Maxtor Athena, Nike, N40P, Ares64, Romulus, Calypso, Proxima, Gala, Rigel, Vulcan, Sabre, Sabre2, Grizzly, Shasta, Rigel, and many others alias that maxtor use as their factory project names for these drives..

The problems are due to firmware failures, in the factory zone of the hard disk drive. Typically, these problems are found within the SMART logs and the Defect mapping modules of the drives. We have developed our own software for repairing the firmware on these drives and are able to recover data from all maxtor hard disks.
