Meta Data Recovery
Meta (meaning later in time)
the future of data recovery is always difficult to forsee, however in order to keep up with the latest storage tecnolgy we keep our ears to the ground in order to understand which ways it may go. Fairly recently solid state storage devices have become affordable and whilst not widespread they are getting bigger and cheaper. In order to keep abreasy of developments, our research people have already purchased this equipment and are already working out ways of accessing the data stored on them.
Initial experiments and observations indicate that these devices use new NAND type flash memory and so we are already able to recover data from these early models using our existing NAND Flash recovery methods
Data recovery equipment
We already have the most advanced and up-to-date data recovery hardware, but our research is never ending. Our programmers are always researching ways of improving our existing software and developing new software. our hardware engineers do the same. Our research into platter swapping - which was at one time 'impossible' has enabled us to develop special jigs and methods so as to enable us to swap platters.
It has been reported that platter swapping is what all data recovery companies do 'all the time', however, this had up until recently, been all but impossible. The problem was (and still is) vertical and concentric platter re-alignment. Where there are two or more platters, these are aligned vertically and on the same plane as each other to within fractions of a micron and the arc of the heads have to match identically as the original. Using our platter and head re-alignment technology, we are now able to realign platters on, Hitachi, Seagate, Samsung, Western Digital, Toshiba, IBM and some Maxtor models.
