What is the GDRA?
The Global Data Recovery Alliance (GDRA) was started up by four initial companies in 2007 that had the skills that would enable them to build on shared knowledge between the organisations. The original four companies were …
- MJM Data Recovery Ltd in the UK
- Critical Data Solutions in Ireland
- Data Recovery Center in Portugal
- Datarecuperatie bvba in Belgium
Since then, the organisation has grown to it current membership of 20 countries. Each member offers knowledge of both data recovery knowledge and special skills, enhancing each member’s ability to perform data recovery services for their customers.
What expertise do you offer?
Each member must have a specific expertise in some area involved in data recovery. All members own data recovery companies in their respective countries. We have members who have multiple advanced skills in the following areas.
- Software development
- Hardware engineering and programming
- Reverse engineering of ROM and hard drive firmware
- Advanced RAID recovery
- Data encryption
- Firmware repairs
- Electronics engineers
- NAND memory experts
- Ex Factory hard drive engineers
Through a co-operation not seen in many other trades, knowledge is shared. Because each company is in a different country, it is unlikely that there would be any territorial disputes. The rules are; that only one or, in rare cases, two members per country is allowed and that they have to have advanced technical abilities in data recovery related fields to qualify. Once a member is accepted, they remain the GDRA representative for that country until they leave. The only exception to this, was in Poland, where we have a hard drive data recovery expert, and a NAND flash memory expert.
Each member will not actively market their services within member countries.
Since its inception, it now has members in 20 countries, each member being an expert in the field of data recovery or related business, the membership spans across the entire world, on every continent (except Antarctica!). We welcome newcomers, so please use the contact form to get in touch.
For GDRA member customers, it means that when a one member comes across a new problem, then the entire team can apply their skills to the problem. Once resolved, the solution is shared among all members.
Many of us write software which is also shared to members, meaning that all companies have access to state-of-the-art software designed for specific issues. This software is not available to anyone else, meaning that GDRA companies will always be one step ahead.
