Removal of system partition

Please note that doing the steps below on a working drive will result with no access to the hard drive. It should ONLY be used when the hard disk is no longer used to remove the partition table layout from a hard drive.

In order to run diskpart you will need to open a command prompt.

Press the [Windows] Button and type CMD in the box that appears.

Now type : list disk

A list of the attached drives show. They are usually numbered from 0 and correspond to the numbers in the disk management console.

Type : list partition

This will give a list of the partitions on the drive. To select the partition type : select partition x where 'x' is the partition number in the list.

  • Run Disk Part.

    Now type : list disk
